Over the weekend, my aunt (by marriage) gave me a contact and pictures of her niece (by marriage) in Vietnam who is 30 and has never touched a boy.

So I emailed her and she excitedly sent me 5 emails back.

It's intriguing and scary at the same time. Long distance.. I don't know....

It's not uncommon over there. It wasn't in the introductory email, my aunt told me over the phone after I called to get more info.

I may give it a shot, there's nothing going on over here other than rejections.

So much weirdness here, I don't know where to begin. How would your aunt know she is a virgin, and why would she mention it? Why are you even entertaining the pursuit of a woman you've never met that lives halfway across the world? Can't imagine why this would be intriguing or scary. Is she planning on moving to Canada? If not, why would your Aunt even bring this up?

I mean, I don't see it as that big of a deal in terms of genetic reasons. Aunt by marriage, niece by marriage. That's pretty far off, genetically speaking.

She's open to the idea of moving to Canada.

Why would my aunt mention it? Old fashioned thing I guess that still exists over there. Our generation doesn't care but older people do. And the funny thing is that it's the women that care. It's still a huge stigma there. Moms from good families want their sons to marry daughters from good families. Good families = properly kept daughters. It's bullshit I know. My aunt probably thinks my mom cares bout that, she doesn't.

Just think of it as similar to the myth of a good Christian family.. just not Christian. It's practically the same.
