I think I've mentioned that a group of neighborhood dads and our kids started a campaign at the beginning of COVID. We're still meeting at least once a month and it's a lot of fun.
Looking forward to the movie, but I'm not going to cosplay as my Dragonborn Ranger. Probably.
What!?!?! This is the first you have said anything about this. Just kidding, we all know about your COVID nerdfest.
And we are all jealous.
:sheepish: I probably do this a lot on here. I never know if ppl are "listening" to some of my ramblings.
Cheers!

I know I do!
Others I ignore.
One milkshake to bring all the boys to the yard and in the darkness bind them.
Watching no time to die and it occurs to me that the next movie will be the first that Bond is on his majesty’s secret service. First novel was published year after qe2 took over.
May be some book/movie timelines not quite right but all the movies would have been with a queen.

Picked can’t hardly wait to make the youngest watch with us tonight and (a) there are so many people who got sorta famous later in this and (b) so many not 90s songs and (c) of the 90s songs at least 4 of them are Smashmouth songs but I think I still love it.

Apropos of not much, at the concert I attended with Brian a week ago, the warmup band played a killer cover of The Replacements’ song, Can’t Hardly Wait, which wiki tells us was the inspiration for this movie’s title, and plays over the closing credits.

Off to see guardians. I’m still a mark.
I’m excited and pissed I don’t think I can wrangle my family into seeing it this weekend. My wife and youngest more or less skipped out on the last “phase” but want to see this one.
Also, there's a bit of the story that sounds an awfully lot like CTE but I don't know how intentional it is, or if it was just something you'd have to know about CTE to infer.

My Father-In-Law is still wearing a Two For the Money ball cap that I won and gave to him from some swamp competition (probably when we had a frontpage and a gamblin problem).

Though given the advertising and chatter I was really expecting them to off someone. And the soundtrack. Was prepared to be devastated by the Flaming Lips song but it didn’t happen.
Hard to identify with Nike as a plucky underdog. And some of the speeches bordered on the farcical.
Worth watching. Bateman-Damon is gold.
I watched it last weekend and liked it, but actually think it could have been better as a play. The whole movie is based on the dialog between folks. My mind went to how a few good men was a play first.

One really positive thing I'll say is that the writers and Affleck (the director) turned what is - as you say - a dialogue-heavy story into a decent film.
Yeah, there's also the very "complicated" role Vaccaro played in establishing the system that started pumping millions of dollars into the high school and then college basketball scenes.
Nike and Adidas saw what a gold mine hitting on the right player was and just dumped cash all over the place. I think it was 30 for 30 podcast that did a whole mini-series on a guy who got swept up in that FBI probe a few years back. It's wild how much it messed up that kid's life (and sent a couple of coaches to prison) and now what that kid received is a joke due to NIL (I think it was roughly $75k, but it was going to his mom.)

My roommate was watching San Andreas when I got home and it occurred to me that I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen a movie with The Rock in it.
Funny, I just went through his IMDB and I thought I saw The Other Guys, but I watched the trailer and I don’t think I did. Took me awhile to figure out what I was confusing it with… The Nice Guys. So no, I’ve never seen the Rock in anything, but I did see The Rock.
