I've got a soft spot for Villareal. Like a CL equivalent of Leicester winning the Prem, except from a much smaller town. Loved watching Riquelme.

Something like that. I feel like the stadium may hold more people than live in the town.

Amazing endings today.

My hatred of Chelsea runs so deep that I was cheering for Real Madrid as if they were some plucky underdog.

Man, that was a tough loss. Such a great comeback. Hate that it was a mistake by Kante (or maybe James) that led to the final goal.

Not sure it would have made a difference, but I think calling Alonso's goal back was bullshit. I didn't see any angles that clearly showed his hand hitting that ball. If it did, it was just barely, not changing the direction of the ball at all.

That Real Madrid-Chelsea game was bonkers. And totally enhanced by having to watch it in Italian.

Letting Benzama stand there alone in the box in extra time? Not a good idea!

ETA: And for those who complained that the Kansas-UNC game started so late, here in Italy the Champions League games started at 9pm. It was almost midnight when the RM-Chelsea game ended.

I assume you were watching City-Atletico?

Madrid wouldn't have scored if that game was 4 hours long. I know that they love to defend, but no Suarez until the 75th minute?

Another bonkers game for Real Madrid. Pep looked like he was going to keel over at certain points.

Feels like City let this one get away from them....sure they won, but they should have scored like 3 or 4 more times.

If there's an equivalent of getting dunked-on in soccer, that would be Alexander-Arnold.

Liverpool is defending like Norwich.

Not like Liverpool don't have the experience of a keeper throwing away a CL tie

Luis Diaz is such a game changer. Nice player to be able to bring in off the bench.

I've seen him play 5 or 6 times and he has never been less than great.

All the various pundits I listen have all said the same thing: It seems like he's been playing with Liverpool for years with how well he fits in with everything they do.
