Jeeves needs (nah, wants) a new tablet

yeah.. don't really 'need it'... but somehow feel like i really want to improve.
curently using a Nook Samsung Tab E -- that will go to the boy who is still playing with my old samsun tab A..

looking at the microsoft surface pro (just came back from costco) -- at $999 including keyboard/cover (current family plan for office should get me access on another device) -- would need to add the 'pen'

or the Samsung S3 -- no keybooard or cover but does have the pen -- $599 but not the keyboard

now i'm ok with the price -- my FF winnings are paying for it -- but would like an opinion either way-- i know samsung..but the surface looks slick

so what would i use it for?
well, porn for one (no sense denying it)
some light office stuff (or google docs), netflix (lots of time on the road for me) and photo editing. few games (chess, catan, etc.) and lots of reading (prefer paper but sucks on the road)

thoughts?

If you don't have an Ipad/Iphone the apps on apple are so far and away better than anything else it's not remotely close. If you already have an Iphone I don't see much need for an Ipad. I like the smaller Ipad pro a lot.

YEAH.. not big on the iAnything. i do have an old ipod.. but that's it.

Make sure you get the one that is not wifi-only. I got the wife that one for Christmas and then had to go trade it in for the right model

Then my recommendation is even stronger. If you go back to not having a single apple thing iphone/ipad etc I will be amazed if you get one. the hardware is fine/whatever. There are so many more quality apps it's not remotely close. Anything on google can be stolen and side loaded to android, so a lot less gets developed for it. I personally only need it with wifi, but to each their own, but every I use it, I have wifi.
