Yep....
And for those more bitter about his reign of terror...
And for those more bitter about his reign of terror...
It's the sixth version of The Swamp. What could possibly go wrong?

I had to look up what I meant by "Gates open," not realizing it was Robert Gates who took over (and became the first Defense Secretary to be kept by the next administration).
Not quite.degenerasian wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 2:51 pmI thought the Bush Administration were the good guys now. After Trump.
Of course but I just saw that during the election, Bush was on talk shows and people liked him. Colin Powell declared his support for Biden and he was called a real patriot etc...Pruitt wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 2:53 pmHuh?!degenerasian wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 2:51 pmI thought the Bush Administration were the good guys now. A well formed turd may be better to look at than a puddle of diarrhea, but it is still a piece of shit.
You're smarter than this.degenerasian wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 4:22 pmOf course but I just saw that during the election, Bush was on talk shows and people liked him. I know I know. It was just annoying in some cases. (and they need to stop calling Liz Cheney a hero, there's a while NY Times article about that)EnochRoot wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 5:28 pmYou're smarter than this.degenerasian wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 4:22 pmOf course but I just saw that during the election, Bush was on talk shows and people liked him. You can always find hyperbole and over exaggerated points of view, but the gist of the importance of people like GWB and Colin Powell (and fuck, Dick Cheney for that matter) was always to WALK PEOPLE BACK FROM LEADING THE COUNTRY OVER THE CLIFF with Donald Trump.
OK?
I think your issue is with the current state of the GOP than it is the deification of Cheney. She's just taking up residence in the abrogated conscience of what used to be the GOP.degenerasian wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 5:53 pmI know I know. It was just annoying in some cases. Rumsfeld was the worst secretary of defense in American history. Being newly dead shouldn’t spare him this distinction. He was worse than the closest contender, Robert McNamara, and that is not a competition to judge lightly. McNamara’s folly was that of a whole generation of Cold Warriors who believed that Indochina was a vital front in the struggle against communism. His growing realization that the Vietnam War was an unwinnable waste made him more insightful than some of his peers; his decision to keep this realization from the American public made him an unforgivable coward. But Rumsfeld was the chief advocate of every disaster in the years after September 11. Wherever the United States government contemplated a wrong turn, Rumsfeld was there first with his hard smile—squinting, mocking the cautious, shoving his country deeper into a hole. His fatal judgment was equaled only by his absolute self-assurance. He lacked the courage to doubt himself. He lacked the wisdom to change his mind.
ETAAnd still now you see with Secretary Rumsfeld, he fails to understand the reality of what's going on, on the ground.
A specialist, E-4, just four levels from the bottom, has to embarrass him publicly for us to get a reaction from the White House.
You mean like People Magazine naming him the 'Sexiest Cabinet Member'?Nonlinear FC wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 11:57 am I had forgotten just how much the media fawned over him at his sickening press conferences. Nauseating.
