NFL Week 2

Post by The Sybian »

Is tonight's game not on TV? It looks like it is only on Amazon Prime. I was hoping to record and watch later, is that an option on Prime?

Looks like either Amazon, the local channels that are in market, or NFL+

https://www.syracuse.com/sports/2022/09 ... eek-2.html

Seems like it'll be an NFL Bite/Reddit NFL Streams/Crack Streams kinda night for some people.

Edit

You gotta be in market for NFL+ too. Brutal.

I have Amazon Prime, but I won't be able to watch until around 10:00. I was hoping to DVR and start at 10 and fast forward through until live. Haven't had a chance to figure this out, but I heard you can record live events on Prime. I know you can watch a recording later, but I was hoping to watch tonight.

It is a pretty horrible place for a good early-season matchup. Giants / Jax or whatever sure, but KC/SD oh whoops LAC?

ETA: anyone know if they're showing the game at Whole Foods?

Thanks, I knew I wasn't going to have time to look. Even better, once the pre-game started, if you click on the game, it asks if you want to go live or watch from the beginning. Basically, it automatically DVRs the games. I love this. Haven't started watching, but reading Dude Perfect guys are on the broadcast is concerning.

Dude Perfect has a separate channel. I haven’t gone over there yet. But I don’t understand what they could possibly be talking about, other than throwing things at things.

It doesn't skip forward and back good at all. Fucking 5 second buffer on a 10 second skip. Who owns this company? They broke or something?

I’ve gotten a broken up picture all night. And I’m a full-time cord cutter who has never had to complain about the picture for an NFL game before.

My picture has been fine, but the audio/video is off by about 2 seconds. Mostly not a problem, but they are calling catches before they happen.

Can’t just hold your head in defeat when the pass intended to you gets picked. You have to at least try and give chase.

Naw, more important to pick up your mouth guard. Not that I expect a TE to run down a DB.

I’m with JLo on the skip feature. I’m used a 30 second skip that is instant. Even worse, you can’t see where it’s FF to. While you hit FF, you can see the time moving on the slide bar, but the video continues playing.

The Chargers decision to go for it on 4th down down 10 instead of taking the freebie field goal moved all the money.

production value was good, felt like a big game and produced accordingly. you could tell they had the ex-SNF producer

I started watching on my local. was watching on the porch on the big movie screen and picture looked fine from my local. but when I flipped it on downstairs after my family left, it looked like a bootleg stream

flipped over to Amazon halfway through the third quarter after the feed started glitching on my local (apparently it did that for a lot of folks?) and the picture was great, but the audio was a split second ahead. you could hear the snap count and there was a clear delay between that and the actual snap

others' feed was also a play ahead of mine in the fourth quarter for whatever reason. my local feed and my amazon feed were synced up but I was getting texts from multiple people about things I hadn't seen yet.

overall it's another reason why I'll continue to stan linear TV until it totally goes away. we're in this weird middle zone for streaming (remember the shit y'all gave me about how cord cutting wasn't really gonna be cheaper when all is said and done?) and while things will only get better, TV broadcasts are still the better product experience

on a non-game broadcast note, it's also nice to have your team's TNF game out of the way in Week 2. they've had so many late-season TNF games lately that full weeks of rest in December could be an underrated part of a playoff push

I've no freakin clue why teams don't roster a guy whose sole job is to kick the ball through the end zone a few times a game. That's it. Just kick the ball through the end zone.

because a lot of kickers can do that already and with the touchback moved up to the 25 special teams coaches like to try to pin teams closer to the end zone
