I'm interested. I've signed up for a few twitter replacements and none seem to have gotten any momentum. Any reason to think this could be the one?

Twitter is such a cesspool but there are still so many good accounts to follow and nothing has been better tracking live events and breaking news, and leaving it I left some good commuities -- great teaching resources with networking, DMB stuff, Boston fans whining about refs -- you know, all stuff you guys like. It will be intertesting to see what happens next.

Anyone else pronounce this as "Blue-es-kee" in their heads? I think the first time I read it I didn't realize it was simply "blue sky" and now my brain is bad.

They're temporarily pausing sign-ups because they're having issues due to "record-high traffic".

Also, put your excitement on pause. In addition to their being a lack of media reporters on Bluesky (I have seen zero NBA and NHL free agency info there), I have now seen someone re-post Erick Erickson from earlier today with another re-post exhorting people to block him immediately in an effort to get him to leave due to lack of engagement, claiming this has worked on others already. So, this may not turn out to be a slice of heaven.

Same, but I suspect there will eventually be enough people on the site following people like him (media, etc.) that they'll eventually be there en masse. There may be some lag time, but I can see it eventually resembling the bird site (they sign up and periodically do their thing until it becomes much more wide open, then jump back in with both feet).

Feel free to go browse who I follow. One thing about Bluesky is that there are a few really active posters there. It can overwhelm your timeline, even if it's funny. Looking at you, Darth, and Kafui.
