It boggles my how these guys can get themselves in such trouble and end up with a par or bogie.
Re: Racism
You would know more than me but the countering statistic would be, how often do cops get shot by an unseen gun when they approach a car? Thus the having to see hands at all times. Or how often are guns in the car at all? I guess it depends on the area. I have no idea because in Canada, getting pull...
Re: Racism
Why are they pointing a gun at him? Because they can. I really wonder if "Disarm the Police" would've been a better rallying cry than Defund. At a minimum, the removal of a gun from the holster should be considered a use of force and subject to review and justification. For fuck sake, cops work for...

One of my favourites as well. That stat about the brewers almost being in the NL for as long as they were in the AL makes me feel very old indeed. Just wait until we get to "the Giants and Dodgers have been in California longer than they were in New York." They've been the Dodgers in LA a lot longe...

I got my wife to try edibles with me after a trip to Colorado.
They made her nauseous and head-spinny for a full day and a half. Some kind of reaction to an anti-depressant we think.
So much for that idea.

Here’s one. We’re a year way from the Athletics spending as many season in Oakland as they have in Philadlephia. They already spent seven more years at the Coliseum than they had at Shibe Park, which opened in 1909 . When do the Braves get to Atlanta > Boston? And I guess the Orioles are way past t...

Yeah, there's really not much the defense has now. The testimony yesterday that a healthy person would've died too was pretty damning, IMO. Also, the bystander testimonies are just gut-wrenching. Okay but how many different places are they supposed to be focusing on.
I wonder, is this the kind of thing he other umps can advise on? The other three umps are in a much better position to judge something like that.

Re: 2021 MLB Regular Season Thread
I don't know how much you can really blame an umpire there. He's not really looking at the batter, he's looking at the pitch.
Pitches are fast and move a lot, so it takes a lot of concentration (and it's not surprising that umpires miss a bunch of calls). That should be a booth review.

A couple days later it started to happen again and I let the bartender know. She did what Syb's nurse did and immediately got me a cold tow...

Plus we just had another routine man-kills-partner-then-himself event in an Ogden store parking lot.
Men should not be allowed to own guns until they stop killing three women every day with them.
