it's been a season of dumb Bryce Harper things:
1. Should he bat 6th
2. Should he slide into first and run into walls.
3. Should I draft him instead of Andrew McCutcheon. Fuck.

Hmm. On one hand, they are building another financially inflexible 3-headed monster that eventually doomed Miami. On the other hand, it did get Miami to 4 Finals appearances, two wins and you have Love long term. As much as I would have liked the prospect of Wiggins + LeBron + max guy next offseaso...

Washington claims Yankees non-LOOGY LOOGY who is under contract through next year, Yankees simply let him walk. Not sure why no American League team claimed him. $4 mil for the next 2 years for a serviceable bullpen guy seems like a good deal. Tigers, Angels or another team with bullpen struggles c...

I think both Detroit and Tampa Bay did very well. No surprise. They are run by top-notch people. I'm impressed that TB was willing to throw in the towel on this season . I think the perception of tanking is more of an issue for promoting the entire league. As a Celtics fan, I was okay with them tanking, but it's tough to like a league where so many teams are intentionally bad. I figure that has some sort of financial impact on the league.

I like it in theory, but with the NBA, more than any other league, it seems that Florida and Texas team with their tax laws and LA and NY with secondary deals available (plus it's NY and LA) have a huge advantage signing free agents. Their farm system looks good, but I'm worried the decision making for the major league team will mess up their prospects. The A.J. So Jon Lester isn't starting tomorrow which means he'll probably be traded. The other thing about Bennett was last year's draft sucked. Where would the best player in last year's draft get picked this year? 10 to 15? So saying that Cleveland would be giving Minnesota a former top pick doesn't mean as much as it usually does.
