I like Live at Leeds way more than any other of their albums.bfj wrote: Mon Feb 12, 2018 7:55 pm I was ready to pick Who’s Next with my last pick, but I looked at the track list and realized that I would never want to hear most of those songs anymore. I love The Who, but I’m not sure that album would get much airplay in the cabin. I’d be opting for Jimi over Pete.
I like Going Mobile. Hee hoo. Beep beep.
That'd be my Who choice - although in typical Who fashion, there are now like 5 versions of that album.sancarlos wrote: Mon Feb 12, 2018 8:31 pmI like Live at Leeds way more than any other of their albums.bfj wrote: Mon Feb 12, 2018 7:55 pm I was ready to pick Who’s Next with my last pick, but I looked at the track list and realized that I would never want to hear most of those songs anymore. Now the walls are all clawed and scratched
Like by some soul insane
In the morning I humbly detach myself
I take no blame
I just can't face my failure
I'm nothing but a well fucked sailor
You at home can easily decide what's right
By glancing very briefly at the songs I write
But it don't help me that you know
This ain't no way out
Won't somebody tell me?
I don't care what you say, boy
There ain't no way out
THat's a great freakin song (Going Mobile aint bad neither)Pruitt wrote: Mon Feb 12, 2018 8:33 pmThat'd be my Who choice - although in typical Who fashion, there are now like 5 versions of that album.sancarlos wrote: Mon Feb 12, 2018 8:31 pmI like Live at Leeds way more than any other of their albums.bfj wrote: Mon Feb 12, 2018 7:55 pm I was ready to pick Who’s Next with my last pick, but I looked at the track list and realized that I would never want to hear most of those songs anymore. Still...
My life's in jeopardy
Murdered in cold blood is what I'm gonna be
I ain't been home since Friday night
And now my wife is coming after me.
Is it Barry Manilow telling them he received some good news?Ryan wrote: Mon Feb 12, 2018 9:48 pm “And as we go to commercial, a live look at Hall & Oates’ house. That’s Oates on the phone right now. Who’s on the other end? We may find out after the break.”
Did Tweedy and Farrar really fucking hate each other? Or had drastically different visions? Was it over a girl/was there a Yoko? Or it just worked out for the best for Tweedy to go his way, and Farrar continue with some of the other Tupelo boys?duff wrote: Mon Feb 12, 2018 2:01 pm Paging Chief Justice Howard of New York...

Where does Sun Volt and Wilco fall in line? Asking for a friend.
This is a little tougher. Clearly Sugar is a Bob Mould band, so your selection includes his solo work plus the four Sugar studio albums. The court is conflicted in considering Hüsker Dü a band dominated by Mould, or is Grant Hart's lesser role significant enough to consider the band separately. That driving 4/4 beat. The Girl Who Lives On Heaven Hill, a Hart composition, my fav Dü tune, and one of the few songs I have been allowed to sing onstage (since the lyrics are best screamed, and that is about all I can manage vocally to an acceptable degree of competence.) OTOH, the court is of the opinion that Hart's solo stuff, well, kinda sucks, and his Dü songs were as a whole weaker that Mould's. But they wrote many songs together.DaveInSeattle wrote: Mon Feb 12, 2018 10:16 am I'll leave it to the Draft Overseer Howard to rule on whether this also takes Husker Du off the board.
Take all the words I've written in this thread, with these posturing pseudo-legal proclamations. Multiply by about 27. That is roughly how many words I could spontaneously spew forth in consideration of this single LP, Who's Next. My Wife by far my favorite song. But I love Going Mobile, and everything else. I wrote out the lyrics to each song. I taught myself barre chords on a roommate's guitar to these songs. I've listened to Keith's track on My Wife over and over, and I can still hear something new. I'll spare you my other thousands of thoughts on this album, but man do I love it.Gimme police protection
Gonna buy a gun
So I can look out for Number One
Give me a bodyguard
A black belt judo expert
With a machine gun
Gonna buy a fast car
Put on my lead boots
And take a long, long drive
I may end up spending all my money
But I'll still be alive

I can check on my phone if I need to though.
Ha! That's well done.
I was holding my tongue on the Carole King choice, perhaps because the choice reminded me of my late mother - she loved that album too. Striesand is still available if somebody wants to complete the tribute to her record collection.P.D.X. wrote: Tue Feb 13, 2018 3:25 pm Hey fuck you guys. And Carole King. I'll take the river down to still water and ride a pack of dogs.
(I honestly didn't know until now that this came out the same day as Nevermind. What a great era for music. Also, you guys remember when albums were only released on Tuesdays and you'd always be in the know about what was coming out that week?)
BadMotorFinger is infinitely better than Nevermind.P.D.X. wrote: Tue Feb 13, 2018 3:25 pm Hey fuck you guys. And Carole King. I'll take the river down to still water and ride a pack of dogs.
