No no no. Remember, NIL is going to make it impossible for the non revenue athletes to get in the game and make anything. Don't you read the NCAA talking points each morning upon rising? Next thing you know, the kid from the popeye's meme will be getting money at a D2 school. Can't have that.
Approximately 1% of her revenue is because she's an athlete at LSU.
To be fair I was making a throwaway joke. I certainly didn't audit the P&L! I don't care how she makes the money, good for her.

Yeah, but I feel like the swap You Slut and You Whore.

=-=-=-=-=

I've never done karaoke, but one of my best buds was a fairly talented singer and he absolutely brought down the house at a bar in Key West. He did a killer Wanted, Dead or Alive in a very crowded joint (Rick's... I think?). He started the song seated on a bar stool (he brought it up to the stage--he knew what he was doing) and had the crowd right there with him...

And at the point where it rolls into "I walk these streets..." He gets up off the stool and donkey kicks the damn thing off the back of the stage. Crowd goes absolutely nuts. If you've been on Duvall Street, you know that it's a bit like Bourbon St, with big windows open to the masses. I turn around and it's not just the bar, but a crowd of people 10 deep at the windows and they're cheering.

One of the funniest/best things I've seen in person. He didn't buy another drink for the next hour or so.
Well what were people gonna do? Mans was packing a loaded six string for god's sake!
He's seen a million faces, and he's rocked 'em all...

Image
Ok...I'm now mad that this song got mentioned yesterday, because its a total earworm for me now.

Curse you!

Writing up my outline for an oral argument before the Trademark Board tomorrow ... I just noticed I've typed the words "Mark Prior" in three different places.

Now it's going to throw me off. (But in true Mark Prior fashion, it'll be throwing a towel. From flat ground.)
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

I've now received 4 payments totaling $75 from a random person on venmo over the past week. The etiquette in this situation is to just return it all, right? Is this some weird attempted scam?

Do those clear/post immediately? I guess it doesn’t matter as it must take less than a week. If there’s a gotcha here it’s beyond me to understand.

three leg emojis, three pizza emojis, something aux and then "tjank you" today

you can't message without friending and I'm not gonna go that route. I think sending the $$ back and then blocking is the way to go

Well, yeah. It would’ve sucked to be a Tesla stockholder last year. But apparently the reports of the company’s death we were all reading a month ago were premature.

The two sides already are due back in court Oct. 27 for a hearing before Circuit Judge Keith R. Truffer to address another matter involving Wells Fargo, which one of Georgia Angelos’ lawyers said could freeze the bank accounts of her husband’s law firm.

Georgia Angelos had asked the court appoint someone to run the firm, which Louis Angelos has managed since his father became incapacitated, because it was under threat of Wells Fargo freezing its accounts. Louis Angelos had transferred the law firm to his name, which Georgia Angelos’ attorneys characterized as selling it to himself.

“As the Court may recall, it encouraged the parties to reach an interim agreement regarding the continued operations of The Law Offices of Peter G. Angelos, P.C., that would ensure its continued operation,” Louis Angelos’ attorney, Jeffrey E. Nusinov, wrote to Truffer in a letter dated Tuesday.
...

“Unfortunately, the parties are at an impasse,” Nusinov said. “In the absence of an agreement, there is a risk that Wells Fargo will freeze the law firm’s accounts within the next few days forcing the law firm to cease all operations.

“The repercussions that would flow from this are very serious,” he continued.

Nusinov went on to request a mediator be appointed to work with the two sides.

I think so?

Woke up to that headline this AM

https://www.baltimoresun.com/maryland/b ... story.html

- which was a far better headline than the last few.

The conservator had started his work a week ago, I assume that stops but until firm is officially sold to Lou, conservator remains around.

It is...weird here. Has been for some time. Someday I will be able to type more about it. Basically, I made a bet about 3 years ago that I could ride this out and it would come out ok on the other side. The dueling lawsuits last year harshed my mellow on that bet. Feeling a bit better today, but need to know more behind the scenes. When I was hired here in 2010 there were 80+ attorneys. We are down to 16. My department, Med Mal, is awash in work and there are just 2 of us attorneys and 1 paralegal so we have a fuckton to do and good money in the pipeline but not enough to support 14 others...I am assuming/hoping that the other remaining departments in the firm are solvent. I think they are, but...dunno. Will type more later when not at work...

Didn't think there would be garbage pickup today because of the "holiday", but there was and I missed it.

BUT THEN ...

An hour or so later the truck stopped on my street for a missed(?) pickup, giving me the chance to dart from the house, bag of garbage in hand, and avoid some gross stuff sitting outside until Thursday. A #hugewin for Mister D.

Here at least (and some places clearly might be different), the garbage dudes work EVERY day, even like Christmas and shit. I suspect they make some insane OT on those days, but we never have a situation where the pickup doesn't happen on that scheduled day.

Yes!!! I pull rat sized ball out of the shower on the regular. She also claims the builder screwed up somehow because her her bathroom sink runs slow. I’ll take it apart at the trap and it’s filled with a minty smelling sticky black sludge. I need to see how much toothpaste she uses. I end up doing that twice a year. The weird one, my son’s bathroom sink was clogged. I pulled out a wad of my daughter’s hair that was bigger than my neighbor’s Yorkie.
