Have Florida and Florida State ever played each other with interim head coaches?

Norvell ain’t going anywhere - his buyout is astronomical. FSU re-did his deal last year and it would cost $70M to dump him.sancarlos wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 9:49 pm Have Florida and Florida State ever played each other with interim head coaches?

How much do you have to pay the lawyers before they tell FSU the SEC don't want you
Re: NCAA Football 2024 - it goes to 12!
FSU will never receive a bid to the SEC. They’re Big 12 bound unless they suddenly pull an AAU out of their ass.HaulCitgo wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 10:09 pm How much do you have to pay the lawyers before they tell FSU the SEC don't want you

At this point it's just pettiness. They probably should have joined instead of Mizzou back in the day (sorry Bronto, and of course your team has been to two SEC champ games since you've been in the conference) but things were so different then.

Five games on right now featuring ranked teams. Five ranked teams losing right now (one game has two ranked teams - Texas and Michigan).

I watched the first quarter of the MI game and turned it off. I had the game recorded, and I checked the score to confirm where things were headed and... Yup, not gonna sit through that.
MI's offense is just awful.

That spot on the 3rd down run was bad enough but that’s at least a judgment call but not winding the clock on 4th down should earn them a suspension.

Things we don’t have to hear any more about:
Notre Dame’s CFP chances
Shadeur Sanders’ Heisman chances.

He won’t win a Heisman, but Shadeur Sanders is a 1st round pick in the next draft (barring injury).

Probably he has a lot of raw skills and better coaching might be able to tame his tendency to make 4-6 completely horrible head-scratching throws a game. Plus he holds on to the ball way too long but that’s absolutely coachable.

Speaking of quarterback play, Auburn could have beaten Cal today, if they had gotten any kind of competent QB play at all. But, Payton Thorne is not that guy.

That was a proper day of college football. Sounds like the late games were fun as well.

Shedeur Sanders gets a lot of hate because that entire program is annoying as shit but he does have a lot of ability. A few critical flaws though that I think will prevent him from being a top NFL QB...as a prospect he reminds me a bit of Dwayne Haskins. Really runs the offense well and generally makes good decisions but I've never seen him throw a single accurate pass 30+ yards downfield.

I was looking forward to flipping back and forth between Tx State, UK, and Baylor and ended up only watching one when I saw the scores.

I watched zero of the TX game live and really barely flipped through "highlights"... One general comment:
If they continue to trot Orji out in 3rd and whatever and run the ball, I'm losing a lot of confidence in the overall competency of this coaching staff. You are literally burning those plays before they ball is snapped. Fucking weird.
And overall, I don't mind losing to a top 5 team... I expected that outcome, pretty much. But ffs, they look SO sloppy. I thought the defense would be better than this.
*shrugs*
It's hard to get too worked up about it at this point. Roll over some fairly easy opponents the next few weeks and see if they can just to a level of competitiveness against decent teams.

you are a fan, sir. not in a disparaging way like the kids say. just so many things piled in that post. you didnt watch. Stop. You didnt watch? thats a pretty big game there. But it hurt so bad to be down early that you didnt watch? Yet, analysis and criticism? You dont mind losing? At home? No, wait now you expected to lose at home? You sure they were sloppy... cause you didnt watch so maybe they just got manhandled and out talented. I know, I know, its hard to get worked up about one of the biggest games on the entire CFB calendar... why again? Because everyone knows it doesnt matter anymore cause theyll still back into the playoff even with another loss or two.

Re: NCAA Football 2024 - it goes to 12!
Here's what I do just about every Saturday. Ready: Wait until around 2:30 or so (noon kickoff, of course) and then I turn on the game and start it from the beginning. It's what I did almost all of last year up until the OSU game going forward (and attending the mf'ing Rose Bowl.) so I don't have to sit through the ridiculous amount of commercials.
Last weekend, I struggled through a truly awful game against Fresno. So, going into this week, kept the same routine and watched pretty much the entire first Q. If you watched that game, along with last week's, you absolutely knew that the offense was so bad there was no chance of catching Texas. So, I proceeded to speed watch the game and somewhere in the 3rd Q, just stopped.
So, yeah, it's not like I didn't see the massive gap in these two teams with my own eyes.
And, again, having watched last week, I came into this game with very low expectations. You are aware the line was MI +7.5, right? At home. In Ann Arbor.
So, you know, thanks for the shitty tone. If you want to share your favorite college team, I'm happy to shit on you for not posting about them, ever.

Wasnt personal. Mostly toward Michigan fans and people who believe this playoff is better. Almost started with you seem like a nice guy so you get a pass. That said... At least I watched Carolina and UNCC play (in fairness I flipped between us soccer and nations league)

Yeah, I almost did my patented delete the post because I'm clearly being very pissy thing... I knew what you were on about.
I should've been clearer about how I consume the sport when I said I didn't watch it live. I pretty much never do anymore. And these types of losses used to fuck me up for a week, and I'm just too old (and I've worn down my wife's patience enough over the years), so that now I just won't put myself through that type of game in its entirety.
And, if we want to continue the debate, yeah... It's kind of great that a loss in the second game of the season doesn't wipe out a shot at the playoffs.
(But, like, for real... MI ain't going to no playoffs.)

This weekend was one of the worst sports weekends for me in a very long time.
* - Routed at home on the national stage in football.
* - Hopkins soccer lost in the last 5 seconds against Kenyon and followed up on Sunday with another L.
* - Both Americans got straight-setted at the US Open (I've watched just about every important match this year.)
* - USMNT gets embarrassed at home against Canada.
If the Lions had lost last night, that really would've been an unreal run of shit.
